About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Test Engineer to join our team at Jobot, a growing OEM supplier located in Morristown, TN. As a Test Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design and development of new test equipment for our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the design of new test equipment for all products
  • Develop standard test procedures and/or engineering verification procedures
  • Analyze, evaluate, and report test results
  • Establish and maintain reliability schedules and databases for assigned product lines
  • Work with R&D Engineers and Application Engineers to understand and solve complex problems regarding testing
  • Perform test data analysis using test software (GlyphWorks, InField, etc.) to improve test efficiency and reliability
  • Discuss all aspects of test information with Engineers, Management, and/or customers
  • Ensure completion of test reports/projects and department goals as scheduled
  • Determine necessary information needed to understand the test request and design improvements/concepts that are to be tested
  • Determine testing solutions, including what instrumentation is needed to verify and validate design modifications and new product development
  • Demonstrate how to utilize data acquisition settings and methods
  • Troubleshoot existing test equipment
  • Work with the Test Supervisor and Test Department personnel to strategically identify and expand our lab, track, and field capabilities and resources
  • Provide input into budgeting and suggest new equipment for purchase
  • Other duties assigned by supervisor
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Ag. Sciences Engineering discipline or equivalent
  • Preferred two+ years experience as Test Engineer or Test/Engineering Technician or equivalent
  • Demonstrate a high degree of initiative and motivation and willingness to work proactively, either independently or with a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Inventor or 3D CAD is a plus
  • Test data analysis experience preferred
  • Understand basic hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
  • Knowledge of the following test instrumentation: data acquisition equipment, strain gauges, load cells, potentiometers, thermocouples, pressure transducers, torque transducers, speed encoders, accelerometers, flow meters, sound/noise meters
  • PLC/LabView programming and 3D Printing experience is a plus
  • Strong technical writing skills preferred
