Radiation Therapist

As a Radiation Therapist at UNC Health Care, you will play a critical role in administering radiation therapy treatments to oncology patients. Your expertise will be essential in assessing, intervening, and documenting patient care. You will work closely with radiation oncologists, clinical physicists, and other healthcare professionals to prepare physical and technical aspects of radiation treatment plans. Responsibilities:
Administer radiation therapy in accordance with physician's instructions and patient treatment plans.
Enter data into computer systems and set controls to operate and adjust equipment and regulate dosage.
Assist physicians, radiation oncologists, and clinical physicists in preparing physical and technical aspects of radiation treatment plans.
Maintain patient and billing records, reports, and files according to department policies and procedures.
Perform routine and complex radiation therapy treatments, including total body irradiation, stereotactic radiosurgery, and low and high brachytherapy.
Requirements:
Graduation from a Radiation Therapy Technologist program approved by the Council of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA).
Radiation Therapy certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Board Eligible (must receive certification within one year of hire).
No prior experience required.
Work Environment:
This is a full-time position with a standard 40-hour workweek. The salary range is $34.65 - $49.81 per hour, with pay offers determined by experience and internal equity. The work assignment type is onsite, and the work schedule is a day job. The location of the job is in Raleigh, NC. This position is exempt from overtime and is employed by NC Health (Rex Healthcare, Inc., d/b/a NC Health), a private, fully-owned subsidiary of UNC Health Care System.
