Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Engineer-HYBRID to join our team at Black & Veatch. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of water treatment systems, developing technical solutions, and collaborating with clients to deliver innovative and effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and implementation of water treatment systems, including process/mass balance calculations, design criteria/basis of design memoranda, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, tradeoff studies, and master planning studies.
  • Develop and implement technical solutions to complex water treatment challenges, including conventional and advanced water treatment systems.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and develop tailored solutions to meet their goals and objectives.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other team members.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in water treatment technology.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program.
  • Minimum of 8 years of related work experience.
  • Professional engineering license from any of the states in the USA or ability to obtain one within 2 years of employment.
  • Advanced knowledge of process design for treatment of municipal effluent for reuse, brackish and seawater desalination, brine management, engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to assigned engineering discipline.
  • Established leadership skills with deep understanding of consulting, project execution, client services, and business development.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree (Master's or Doctoral) in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering.
  • 10 years of experience in drinking water treatment with at least 5 years in water quality and treatment.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Typical office environment, typical construction environment, extreme weather conditions, high noise level, safety hazards (electric currents, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals), atmospheric conditions (fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, poor ventilation). Sitting, walking, talking, hearing, reading, writing, keyboarding, driving, filing, reaching, stooping, crouching, bending, standing for extended periods of time, lifting or carrying up to 40 pounds.
