Job Description

We are seeking a results-driven Elevator Solutions Lead to join our GAL Manufacturing team. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for performing all quality control inspection activities under the direction of the Vice President, Finance & Treasurer.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership and audit experience in a professional accounting firm, preferably with a Big 4 and/or experience in a multi-company/business unit environment.
  • An undergraduate degree in accounting or finance is required.
  • CPA is required.
  • Manufacturing environment experience is preferred.
  • An advanced degree such as an MBA, MS, or related graduate degree is desired.
  • A self-starter with exemplary skills in project management, coordination of internal and external resources, creative problem-solving, and effectively negotiating with and managing budgetary and other resources.
  • Proficiency with financial information systems, including ERP systems implementation.
  • Executive leadership presence with strong influencing and communications skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of time.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to the business unit controllers over all aspects of accounting and reporting, including general ledger charts of accounts, transaction processing, journal entries, and monthly closing routines.
  • Improve the current existing monthly closing calendar and standard closing processes across the business units and group level.
  • Standardize the monthly consolidation and reporting process to ensure accuracy and completeness of results.
  • Establish a cadence of monthly management reporting that captures the key drivers of the business and tracks performance against targets.
  • Provide timely analytical support and action-oriented insights to operational management related to capital investments, pricing policies, regional sales, and other operational initiatives.
  • Provide input and support to the information technology function over financial systems and related controls.
  • Standardize accounting and reporting practices across the company.
  • Serve as the subject matter technical expert for accounting, financial, and tax-related matters.
  • Serve as the functional leader in developing a practical and business-savvy internal control and enterprise risk management framework.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day interface with the external auditors, including benefit plan auditors.
  • Oversee domestic and international tax and regulatory compliance and related planning over sales, use, and income tax matters and partnership reporting.
