About the Role:
The successful applicant will be engaged in a range of responsibilities including:
  • Offering legal counsel on municipal law issues.
  • Acting as bond counsel and issuer's counsel, with a strong emphasis on public finance and tax-exempt finance.
  • Conducting extensive legal research and delivering thorough legal analyses.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal documents and contracts.
  • Ensuring compliance with legal standards across various departments.
  • Representing the organization in litigation when required.
  • Keeping abreast of current laws and regulations to update the organization’s legal policies.
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to junior legal staff.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in municipal law, bond counsel, or issuer's counsel roles.
  • Proven expertise in public finance, tax-exempt finance, and municipal law.
  • Strong skills in legal research, writing, and document preparation.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional accuracy.
  • Robust litigation experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
  • Membership in good standing with the State Bar.
