Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $85,000-$110,000, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, disability, vacation, and sick leave, as well as a 403B retirement plan. Employees and their dependents are also eligible for 100% free tuition at Howard University.

Job Description

">

As an Emergency Department Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, intervening, and evaluating patient care at the bedside. You will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to provide compassionate, patient-centered care, adhering to HIPAA Privacy policies and procedures. Your duties will include:

  • Assessing patient needs and developing individualized care plans">
  • Providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families">
  • Documenting patient care and outcomes in electronic records">
  • Maintaining continuity among nursing teams through effective communication and documentation">
  • Participating in unit performance improvement programs and quality initiatives">
  • Protecting patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols">

Required Skills and Qualifications

">

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • ">
  • An Associate Degree in Nursing (required) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)">
  • Three years of bedside RN experience in ED">
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia">
  • Basic Life Support and ACLS certification through AHA">
  • Nationally recognized Nursing Certification in assigned area(s) (highly desirable)">
