Assistant Director of Nursing

NYC Health + Hospitals is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing to join our team. As a key member of our nursing leadership team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating the nursing service of the hospital, diagnostic and treatment center, or a major unit within the Department of Nursing.
Key Responsibilities:- Assume responsibility for planning, directing, coordinating, and evaluating service on the evening or night tours.
- Engage front-line staff and other stakeholders in continuous improvement of systems and processes; manage resources for staff participation in improvement work activities.
- Ensure effective facilitation of improvement teams and development of leadership skills to ensure overall effectiveness of the meetings.
- Licensed and currently registered to practice as a professional nurse in New York State.
- Masters Degree in Nursing Administration, Education, Clinical Specialty, or equivalent field, and five years of satisfactory nursing experience, of which three years shall have been in a supervisory or teaching capacity; or a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing and six years of satisfactory nursing experience, four years of which shall have been in a supervisory or teaching capacity.
- A satisfactory equivalent of education and experience. However, all candidates must be licensed and currently registered to practice as a Professional Nurse in New York State.

- Ability to persuade others and develop consensus.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with a communication style that is open and fosters trust, credibility, and understanding.
