Data Modeler

SAIC is seeking a skilled Data Modeler to support a USG big data program that Extracts, Transforms, and Loads (ETL) incoming datasets for use by numerous down-stream systems and analysts.
The ideal candidate will be part of an Agile team of multi-disciplinary engineers who support an effort to increase the speed of data delivery for structured and unstructured data in the interest and support of national security objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain data models in accordance with customer requirements
- Perform periodic assessments of authorized data models for potential adjustments
- Support execution of the ETL process on periodic and one-time data sets to include conditioning and write out of the modified data sets
- Support analysis of conditioned data sets to ensure compliance with current data models
Requirements:
- Active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance
- Bachelor's Degree in data science, computer science, information engineering, or a related subject - OR 4 additional years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of degree
- Experience with big data technologies and platforms, such as Databricks, AWS EMR, and Apache Spark to execute an Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) mission
- Ability to develop and maintain data models and to map incoming data sets to the appropriate model
- Experience developing required database schemas containing windows, screens, tables and columns and reports that support the database model
- Requires experience using and creating SQL to include creating/querying tables, joining tables, and extracting data across multiple data sets
- Able to code in Python, PySpark, and Java
- Experience with Apache NiFi
- Able to write data sets to AWS S3 storage
- Able to identify technical problems and develop software updates and fixes
- Experience with Agile tools, such as JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, and GitHub
- Must be creative problem solver and critical thinking skills
