GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Department of Applied Mathematics at the Illinois Institute of Technology is seeking applications for tenure-track or tenured faculty positions at various ranks, commencing in August 2024. We are particularly interested in candidates whose expertise will enhance and complement the research initiatives of our department.
The Department of Applied Mathematics, part of the College of Computing, consists of 15 tenured and tenure-track faculty members and serves as a dynamic research center where faculty engage in diverse areas of mathematics and statistics with extensive applications.
Our research endeavors are supported by a variety of governmental and private funding sources. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to our ongoing research and educational programs in areas such as applied analysis, computational mathematics, data science, discrete mathematics, financial mathematics, stochastics, and statistics.
As the sole mathematics/statistics department at Illinois Tech, we offer a comprehensive range of degrees from BS to PhD, including a nationally recognized Master of Data Science in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science, as well as the newly introduced Master of FinTech.
Our faculty members teach mathematics, statistics, and data science to a significant portion of undergraduate and graduate students at Illinois Tech.
