Position Summary:

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is responsible for assisting the Facilities Maintenance Director in managing and executing enhancements that ensure quality and excellence across the organization's facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain, clean, and repair building fixtures and equipment, including locks, windows, doors, carpets, blinds, roof drains, shelving, and systems furniture.
  • Replace HVAC filters and conduct minor maintenance on HVAC units to ensure proper functioning.
  • Repair plumbing fixtures, clear clogs, and maintain plumbing systems.
  • Create and manage work orders efficiently.
  • Monitor and report on repair and maintenance activities; maintain accurate records.
  • Assist in preparing specifications for contracts, quotes, proposals, and bid projects related to facility service and repair.
  • Conduct field inspections and oversee work-in-progress; identify and resolve issues with external contractors, escalating to management as necessary.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to troubleshoot unusual problems and maintain Club facilities.
  • Identify and report potential safety hazards related to Club facilities; manage spills and unsafe conditions; secure and unlock Club facilities as needed.
  • Coordinate with Club personnel to assess maintenance needs; gather information to define project scope and estimate time, labor, equipment, and material requirements.
  • Perform minor repairs on roofs, brickwork, asphalt, plaster, and concrete.
  • Paint walls and equipment; conduct minor painting repairs; operate automotive equipment and manage material hauling; receive and store supplies.
  • Make simple repairs to furniture, cabinets, asphalt tiles, and linoleum.
  • Replace light bulbs and tubes; repair or replace ballasts as necessary.
  • Utilize the facilities maintenance help desk system promptly; respond to, follow up on, and complete requests efficiently.
  • Engage with customers using tact and diplomacy in all interactions.
  • Coordinate with departments and external agencies; act as a liaison to various departments.
  • Enhance the Club's image by fostering excellent internal and external customer relations.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, other employees, and the public, applying principles of good customer service.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Comprehensive understanding of facilities planning principles, best practices, and procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes, ordinances, and regulations.
  • Basic understanding of building design, construction, and maintenance necessary for the upkeep of equipment and facilities.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of budget creation and management.
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate multiple tasks and projects to ensure timely and accurate completion.
Education and Experience:
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience is required.
  • Pool maintenance certification is advantageous.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds as needed.
  • Capability to navigate all facilities in various weather conditions.
