Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as the Director of Resilience and Prevention for the Department of the Navy. This position is responsible for leading the development and implementation of strategies to prevent and respond to destructive behaviors such as sexual assault, sexual harassment, suicide, bullying, and hazing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement prevention and response strategies to address destructive behaviors
  • Collaborate with senior leaders across the Department of the Navy to advance resilience and prevention efforts
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to program managers and staff on prevention and response initiatives
  • Develop and manage budgets and resources to support resilience and prevention efforts
  • Represent the Department of the Navy in external forums and meetings to advance resilience and prevention efforts
Requirements
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
  • New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
Qualifications

Applicants will be assessed against qualifications which fall into two areas: Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) and Mandatory Technical Qualifications (MTQs).

  • Knowledge of, and experience in, programs for prevention and response of destructive behaviors such as sexual assault and harassment, suicide, and hazing and bullying
  • Ability to analyze and organize complex technical or controversial material into executive-level written forms of communication
  • Demonstrated ability to lead senior teams and work groups, as well as organizational staff, to collaborative and successful decisions and results-oriented outcomes within DoD and/or the federal government
  • Experience (Knowledge and familiarity of) working with Congress, Federal agencies, Department of Defense (DoD) and other Services, and private volunteer or non-government organizations on matters within this portfolio

This position is in the Senior Executive Service (SES), a small elite group of top government leaders. SES members possess a diverse portfolio of experiences including strong skills to lead across organizations.
