Position Overview: The main duty of this role is to deliver high-quality radiographic imaging and related techniques, generating images for interpretation by a licensed independent practitioner under the supervision of a Radiologic Technologist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collects patient clinical history and relevant laboratory results, ensuring documentation is available for licensed practitioner use; confirms informed consent and completes necessary pre and post-procedure documentation.
  • Positions and stabilizes patients to optimally demonstrate the anatomical area of interest, considering patient comfort and capability.
  • Executes radiographic procedures by selecting and operating imaging equipment and associated accessories to successfully complete tasks.
  • Assists licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized radiographic procedures, applying appropriate aseptic techniques as necessary. Prepares and/or administers medications/contrast as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Conducts timeout procedures as mandated by policy.
  • Assesses images for technical quality.
  • Provides education to patients regarding procedures.
  • Transports patients as required.
  • Restocks supplies and maintains cleanliness of the work environment.

Qualifications

Experience/Education:

- Must be entering the second year of a JRCERT accredited Radiography program.

Licensure/Certification:

- Completion of the American Heart Association Healthcare provider course with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 calendar days of hire. Exceptions may be approved on a case-by-case basis.

- Must possess a South Carolina Limited License.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment while delivering accurate results in a timely manner.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership over projects and assignments.
  • Excellent team player with strong follow-up and customer service skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with patients and team members.

Physical Requirements: Medium Physical Agility Test (PAT) Rating

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, and walk; occasionally required to use hands and fingers; and frequently to communicate verbally or audibly. The employee must exert 20 to 35 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
