Position Overview

The Management Lead for projects is accountable for overseeing the management of designated projects and their respective teams as a vital member of the project leadership group. This role requires a fundamental proficiency in the Senior Project Manager job category. Key responsibilities encompass Project Management from the initial project proposal to client occupancy, overseeing construction documentation production, construction administration, and nurturing client relationships. Formulate strategic plans to ensure project success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex medium to large-scale projects.
  • Collaborate consistently with project design and technical leaders to execute the project, coordinate resources, and integrate inputs from inception to completion.
  • Engage as a leading member of the project team in all facets of project scope.
  • Contribute to proposal development and inform scope & fee as a key participant in project pursuits.
  • Create the Work Plan, including appropriate staffing requirements.
  • Develop the Project Schedule aligned with the work plan.
  • Identify and engage necessary Consultants.
  • Coordinate all project efforts, including administrative, design, and technical aspects, to ensure efficient and cost-effective execution.
  • Manage client budgets, schedules, and programs; oversee project communications and documentation; handle office administrative tasks and project team assignments.
  • Collaborate with leadership on staffing and project planning. Act as the primary contact for clients and consultants.
  • Manage client expectations and consultant coordination to achieve project completion within the agreed schedule, budget, and scope.
  • Proactively manage project dynamics, mitigate risks, and maintain alignment with project scope.
  • Develop additional service requests when work exceeds contracted scope.
  • Monitor project financial performance and proactively create plans to address potential losses.
  • Work closely with Finance & Accounting to adhere to Vocon project delivery standards and ensure timely billing.
  • Understand fundamental contract language and concepts.
  • Prepare strategic plans for project success.
  • Contribute to the development of project management standards and best practices.
  • Enhance Vocon's evolving project delivery framework with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Exemplify interdisciplinary collaboration and active engagement.

Required Capabilities

  • Demonstrated competency in fulfilling Key Responsibilities for the Senior Project Manager role.
  • Specialized expertise in management execution, comprehensive knowledge of the design process, and proficiency in all conventional aspects of interior design and/or architecture.
  • Ability to resolve complex technical/design challenges and provide guidance.
  • Thorough understanding of design and production procedures, as well as quality assurance processes.
  • Extensive knowledge of contract administration procedures for professional services and consultants.
  • In-depth understanding of building codes, standards, construction practices, and project delivery methods.
  • Proven experience and success in managing the aforementioned procedures and processes.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
  • Ability to supervise multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Capability to motivate and oversee the work of others.
  • Competent in business writing and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently.
  • Effective communication with clients, consultants/contractors, and staff.
  • A strong passion for mentoring and teaching.
  • Proficient in relevant PM software, including BlueBeam Revu, Newforma, Clearview.
  • Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and other project delivery tools, coupled with a desire for ongoing learning.

Qualifications

  • Professional degree in Architecture/Interior Design from an accredited institution.
  • Seven to fifteen years of experience in commercial architecture/design and management.
