Position Overview

DVL Group, Inc. is seeking a skilled HVAC/R Technician with a focus on Critical Infrastructure Data Centers and precision cooling systems. This role involves extensive knowledge and expertise in specialized HVAC and refrigeration equipment, along with strong customer interaction skills. The technician will be responsible for the assessment, testing, adjustment, and optimization of heating, cooling, and ventilation systems in commercial and industrial environments, particularly in data center applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of HVAC systems, including split systems, direct expansion systems, chilled water systems, and control mechanisms.
  • Execute routine Preventative Maintenance tasks on all HVAC equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Identify and resolve issues, including replacing compressors and faulty components across all air conditioning systems.
  • Perform soldering and brazing of refrigerant and water lines.
  • Maintain clear communication with dispatchers, providing detailed updates on job progress, equipment identification, estimated completion times, labor hours, and materials used.
  • Interpret schematics and control circuits effectively.
  • Conduct startup services on basic HVAC equipment and address technical inquiries from installation contractors.
  • Engage with customers professionally, representing the company positively.
  • Complete necessary documentation accurately and promptly, including work orders, startup reports, warranty claims, and parts requisitions.
  • Provide technical support and training to HVAC Assistant Field Technicians.
  • Handle refrigerants and operate reclaim machines, vacuum pumps, and other essential tools safely.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, including knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), tool safety, equipment safety, and ladder safety guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a one-year certificate program from a college or trade school.
  • Possession of EPA Certification.
  • A minimum of 2 years of recent experience in residential or commercial HVAC/R, with a preference for experience in critical environment cooling.
  • Ability to work independently during service calls.
  • Recent hands-on experience with vacuum pumps, micron gauges, and refrigerant reclaim machines.
  • Valid driver's license for travel to customer locations using a company vehicle.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Availability for scheduled on-call and overtime work.
  • Prior safety training and OSHA 10 certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel is advantageous.

The compensation package includes a competitive hourly rate starting at $40.00 or higher, based on relevant experience, along with bonuses, a work vehicle, a laptop, and a mobile device.
