Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Healthcare Assistant to join our team at SSM Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist registered nurses with patient care assignments and delegated tasks
  • Collect and document patient data for admission assessments, reassessments, and scheduling appointments or surgeries
  • Inform licensed nurses of patient condition changes, complaints, and educational needs
  • Stock and maintain supplies and equipment to meet patient care needs and cost containment
  • Assist with clerical duties, such as answering phones, relaying messages, and preparing patient medical records
  • Perform various patient care tasks, including bathing, ambulating, feeding, skin care, and making beds
  • Orient new patients and significant others to the nursing unit
Requirements
  • Completion of a state-approved unlicensed assist personnel program (UAP) or meets exempted UAP guidelines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information
