Position Summary:
This role is a full-time opportunity, encompassing 40 hours per week, with a schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Eligible for benefits.


The Clinical Support Specialist will deliver direct patient assistance to various age groups, including pediatric, adolescent, and adult populations within an outpatient environment.

The Specialist is committed to providing exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivers outstanding service to both internal and external stakeholders by implementing best practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Prepares correspondence, documents, reports, and other materials that may be moderately complex or confidential, often requiring independent judgment. Manages appointment scheduling and conducts follow-up and reminder communications.
  • Assists with various clinical duties, including patient rooming, taking vital signs, measuring height and weight, and asking relevant screening questions.
  • Provides basic supportive care related to nutrition, mobility, and elimination.
  • Gathers and communicates data to a licensed professional, including any abnormal findings, and documents all observations in the medical record.
  • Administers medications that are approved for a Clinical Support Specialist to administer.
  • Accepts direction and delegated tasks from a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse that fall within the training and scope of the Clinical Support Specialist.
  • Serves as a mentor for the orientation and training of new staff, float personnel, and students as directed.

Qualifications:

Education:
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or five years of equivalent experience is required.

Certifications:

CPR certification (American Heart Association Heart Saver with pediatric content) course, or Health Care Provider course or equivalent from the Red Cross, is required.


Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, demonstrating professionalism in the presence of patients and colleagues.
  • Proficient computer skills and familiarity with general data entry.
  • Ability to learn and become proficient with specific software programs, systems, and Electronic Medical Record documentation.

Experience:

  • In lieu of an accredited medical assistant program, five years of experience with vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, respiration, pulse, height, and weight is required.
  • Experience in pediatrics is preferred.
Minimum Physical Requirements


Must possess the ability to see, hear, stand, walk, speak, read, and perform manual tasks with or without accommodations, and care for oneself with minimal difficulty.

Must be capable of independently lifting up to 25 lbs.

OCCASIONALLY:
1-33% OF TIME (0.5 TO 2.5 HOURS)
