Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nutritionist to join our team in Columbia and Greene Agency. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert nutrition advice and education to clients, promoting healthy eating habits, and ensuring the efficient flow of the assessment/education process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the efficient flow of the assessment/education process and communicate with clients when waiting time will be excessive.
  • Perform anthropometric and hemoglobin measurements for WIC participants.
  • Promote breastfeeding as the preferred infant feeding method.
  • Review and approve medical documentation forms for Food Package III for participants in consultation with the Health Care Provider.
  • Provide leadership in planning, conducting, and evaluating participant-centered nutrition education sessions.
  • Provide and document appropriate follow-up referrals to other health and social services agencies for participants.
  • Travel to outreach/satellite sites when necessary and assist in loading and unloading the WIC van.
  • Fills in as a Nutrition Assistant when the need arises, performing categorical, residential, and income verification for WIC participants.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition (preferred) or Bachelor's degree with related coursework in Nutrition (required).
