Job Summary

The Boston Medical Center is seeking a skilled Per Diem Registered Nurse to join our Perinatal Float Pool team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing care to patients and their families, adhering to the rules and regulations of the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
  • Assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, evaluate, and coordinate care for patients and their families across the healthcare continuum.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure effective communication and coordination of care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
  • Meet the physical demands of the job, including the ability to lift, stand, and move patients as needed.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate's degree or Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN). BSN preferred.
  • Current RN licensure in the state of MA in good standing.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification. Some units may require Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification.
  • Additional certifications may be required for certain practice areas.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to access, enter, and interpret computerized data/information.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty certification, with a focus on perinatal care.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of adaptability and flexibility.
