Music Therapist Job Opportunity

We are seeking a licensed Music Therapist (MT-BC) to join our team at Aunni's Healthcare Services. As a Music Therapist, you will work with children and adults with developmental disabilities, providing music therapy consultations and services.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop individualized music therapy plans of care, incorporating patient and family input.
  • Utilize independent discretion during patient evaluations, guiding patients in creative therapeutic activities to improve mental and physical function.
  • Organize music therapy interventions using various genres and methodologies.
  • Implement music therapy interventions in accordance with interdisciplinary plans of care.
  • Direct other care team members, including family members, in the use of music to achieve individualized care plan goals.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of music therapy services with patients.
  • Document all services provided to patients and families via daily notes and quarterly reporting.
  • Terminate therapy services when appropriate.
  • Assist with sign-ups and consents for newly referred patients.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to determine patient eligibility for music therapy.
  • Design musical interventions based on therapeutic goals to improve clients' psychological, physical, and social health.
  • Provide music therapy sessions, encouraging clients to interact through singing and dancing.
  • Monitor clients during musical interventions and measure session effectiveness.
  • Record and videotape clients periodically to measure progress.
  • Keep records of client progress.
  • Conduct biannual assessments to re-evaluate clients.
  • Maintain musical instruments.
Requirements:
  • Hold a minimum bachelor's degree in Music Therapy from an accredited college or university.
  • Be Board Certified as a Music Therapist by the Certification Board for Music Therapy (MT-BC).
  • Have previous experience working with DDD patients and families, preferably in a residential or clinical setting.
  • Be able to work as a team member and train/mentor others.
