Role Summary:
The Product Manager will take full responsibility for the software product, overseeing both the technical and functional roadmap. This role requires a strong advocate for a customer-focused approach, ensuring that the voice of the customer is represented in technology and resource decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assume complete ownership of the product, guiding its development from conception to delivery.
- Act as the primary liaison for the product development team, facilitating communication and collaboration.
- Work closely with development and business stakeholders to prioritize and manage the product backlog effectively.
- Lead product grooming and sprint planning sessions in partnership with engineering teams.
- Oversee capacity and resource planning to enhance product development efficiency.
- Clearly communicate product scope, return on investment, and benefits to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and engineering teams to ensure successful product launches.
- Align various domains, both technical and non-technical, to a unified vision, ensuring clear communication of product details.
- Engage actively in support channels, addressing stakeholder inquiries and concerns.
- Utilize knowledge of technology trends to assess the impact of platform and architecture decisions on product roadmaps and user experience.
- Develop a thorough understanding of all products and technologies managed by the team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related discipline). An advanced degree is a plus.
- 8+ years of experience in a product management role or similar position within the technology sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in product management, showcasing end-to-end ownership of complex products.
- Strong grasp of software development life cycle (SDLC) practices and web-based application development technologies.
- Good understanding of Web/API development using Java or NodeJS.
- Exceptional customer focus with a proven record of integrating customer feedback into product strategies.
- Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams towards shared objectives.
- Excellent communication skills, adept at conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strategic thinker with problem-solving capabilities, able to creatively address challenges.
- Familiarity with technology trends and best practices in the industry.
- Proficient in project and product management tools and methodologies.
- Prior development experience is an added advantage.
