Respiratory Therapist Job Description

At St. Mary's Home for Disabled, we are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide respiratory care services to residents, including ventilator management, oxygen therapy, and aerosol treatments.
  • Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each resident.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest respiratory care techniques and technologies.
Requirements:
  • Current Virginia Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
  • Actively registered with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Current BLS Certification required.
  • Graduate of a recognized COARC or JRCRTE/AMA Respiratory Care Educational Program.
  • Must complete 20 hours of continuing education (CRCE) as required to maintain certification/license.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for variable periods of time.
  • Visual acuity and ability to hear and communicate is required.
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds independently.
  • Must be able to use lifting and mobility equipment necessary to care for the individuals served.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years general respiratory experience required; pediatric experience preferred.
  • Long-Term care experience preferred.
