Job Title: Monitor/Aide

First Student is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Monitor/Aide to join our team in Old Bethpage, NY.

Job Summary:

As a Monitor/Aide, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of students. You will be responsible for providing operational oversight, day-to-day management, and assisting drivers in safe operation of routes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor student behavior and ensure their safety while on the bus
  • Communicate with drivers and school personnel to ensure smooth operations
  • Assist with pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus
  • Help students with loading and unloading
  • Attend safety and training meetings
  • Conduct emergency evacuations and use exiting by emergency door
Requirements:
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Early morning availability
  • Judgement/problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage high degrees of stress
