Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Assistant to join our team at First Student. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing operational oversight and day-to-day management of our school bus routes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the welfare of passengers while in route and communicate any issues with the driver.
  • Assist in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure safety and reliability.
  • Cooperate and communicate with school personnel, students, and parents to ensure a positive and safe experience.
  • Attend all safety and training meetings to stay up-to-date on the latest procedures and protocols.

Requirements:

  • Good verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Early morning availability and ability to manage high degrees of stress.
  • Judgement/problem solving skills and ability to work independently.
