Job Summary: The Financial Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial activities of the organization, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills who is capable of a wide range of financial tasks while ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of financial information.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the full cycle of accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Participate in the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal policies.
- Drive the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial data is accurate and up to date.
- Manage cash flow, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial insights and recommendations.
- Manage preparation for annual audits, providing necessary documentation.
- Collaborate with the management team to ensure alignment of financial processes with organizational goals and initiatives.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues within financial reports and transactions promptly.
- Stay informed about changes in financial regulations and legislation that may impact the organization.
- Continually seek ways to improve processes and increase efficiency within the department.
- Ad-hoc reporting, special projects, and other assigned duties.
Qualifications:
- Dedicated Christian with clear knowledge of the Gospel and a passion for the mission of Emerald Youth Foundation; connected to a church community; possesses a strong reputation for honesty, integrity, and high moral standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
- Proven experience (5+ years) in accounting roles, including payroll, AR, AP, and GL.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft 365 tools.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
