Position Overview:

The selected candidate will oversee all facets of project construction, providing regular updates to Project Managers while managing material procurement, delivery, and receipt.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare daily reports, if not provided by the contractor, and submit them to the Project Manager.
  • Review the overall construction sequence and Issue for Construction (IFC) documents.
  • Ensure quality assurance and quality control on relevant construction methods and materials.
  • Verify that construction activities comply with AES standards and specifications.
  • Lead the coordination of construction activities.
  • Facilitate weekly construction meetings.
  • Coordinate necessary protection and control isolation sequences.
  • Receive and manage isolation orders.
  • Collaborate with the Safety Group to schedule Safety Coordinators.
  • Stay informed about site safety issues from the Safety Observer.
  • Actively engage in safety observation and enhancement initiatives.
  • Review invoices and validate completed work units or milestones.
  • Collect signed material receipts from contractors and forward them to the Project Manager for Goods Receipt (GR) processing.
  • Coordinate with AES Environmental for inspections, soil testing, and material disposal.
  • Assist the Project Manager in compiling documentation for Change Order Requests.
  • Manage the return of all unused materials.
  • Support the Project Manager in the project closeout checklist.
  • Participate in evaluations of construction contractor bids.
  • Coordinate performance evaluations and documentation for construction contractors.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction management for multi-million dollar projects, preferably in electric utility projects. Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite; familiarity with project scheduling software, particularly Primavera (P6), is preferred.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution and crisis management.
  • Exceptional time management, communication, and project management abilities.

Work Schedule:

  • Standard working hours are Monday through Friday.
  • Availability for holidays, weekends, and irregular hours may be necessary.
  • Travel to various project sites within the service territory is required.

Educational Background:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience is required.
