Job Summary

Community Based Care of Brevard, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Family Search Specialist to join our team. As a Family Search Specialist, you will play a critical role in connecting children in care with their extended family members and informal supports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough searches of immediate and extended family members to identify potential relative placements and supports for children in care.
  • Perform diligent searches on absent parents or relatives on dependency cases.
  • Utilize multiple internet search browsers and social media platforms to identify and contact family members.
  • Assist in data entry and collection of relatives and extended family members.
  • Complete home studies and report findings to the Child Welfare Specialist team.
  • Participate in case transfer staffing's and attend staff meetings, in-service trainings, and other meetings as necessary.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Two years' experience working with at-risk children and families preferred.
  • Child Welfare Case Management Certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to set and adjust priorities and be flexible with changing demands and priorities.
Work Environment

The Family Search Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment with a team of dedicated professionals. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
