Job Overview:
Position Title:
Formwork Specialist, Formwork Technician, or Formwork Apprentice

Reporting To:
Foreman

General Position Summary:
Responsible for constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood, metal, or composite materials.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Willingness to travel as necessary.

2. Proficient in using basic carpentry tools.

3. Review blueprints, sketches, or building plans to gather information regarding the materials needed and the dimensions of the structures or fixtures to be created.

4. Prepare layouts, marking cuts and assembly lines on materials.

5. Shape materials to specified measurements.

6. Assemble cut and shaped materials, fastening them together using nails, dowel pins, glue, or form accessories.

7. Construct forms and chutes for concrete placement.


8. May need to erect, climb, and work on scaffolding and ladders to assemble structures at heights up to 100 feet or below ground level at depths down to 50 feet. Utilize body harnesses or other fall protection as required.

In instances where the above duties are not performed, may assist in other operations as directed by the supervisor.

Equipment and Materials Used: Carpenter's hand tools, small to large power tools, bench tools (saw, drill, grinder), concrete saw, chipper, sander, paving breaker, jackhammer.

Safety Policies and Practices:

Employees in this role must be knowledgeable about and adhere to the company's safety policies and procedures as outlined in the safety manual.

Education:
A High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is preferred but not mandatory.

Experience and Training:
A minimum of three to six months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Employees are regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions, extreme temperatures, and may frequently encounter wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and high or precarious locations.
