Job Description:

Position Title:
Formwork Technician, Formwork Apprentice, or Formwork Pre-Apprentice

Supervisor:
Foreman

General Overview of the Role:
Responsible for constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures using wood, metal, or composite materials.

Key Responsibilities:

- Willingness to travel as necessary

- Proficient in the use of basic carpentry tools

- Analyze blueprints, sketches, or construction plans to determine required materials and dimensions

- Prepare layouts and mark cutting and assembly lines on materials

- Shape materials to specified measurements

- Assemble cut and shaped materials, fastening them with nails, dowel pins, or adhesives

- Construct forms and chutes for concrete placement


- May involve erecting, climbing, and working on scaffolding and ladders for assembly at heights up to 100 feet or depths down to 50 feet. Utilize body harnesses or other fall protection as necessary.

- When not engaged in the above duties, may assist in other operations as directed by the supervisor.

Equipment and Materials Utilized:
Carpenter's hand tools, various power tools, bench tools (saw, drill, grinder), concrete saw, chipper, sander, paving breaker, jackhammer

Safety Protocols:

Employees in this role must be knowledgeable about and adhere to the company's safety policies and procedures as outlined in the safety manual.

Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred but not mandatory

Experience and Training:
Three to six months of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Environment:

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this role.
