Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Medical Billing Specialist to join our Revenue Cycle Management team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for processing denied and unpaid claims, providing oversight to internal team leads and billing specialists, and training new hires.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and resolve denied claims on an explanation of benefits (EOB)
  • Conduct follow-up on outstanding and aged accounts
  • Submit required appeals and documentation to insurance companies
  • Identify and resolve billing issues with the Manager and contracts and collections teams
  • Review claims for accuracy and ensure timely processing
  • Communicate with insurance companies, adjusters, and attorneys on a regular basis
  • Correct errors and resubmit claims to insurance companies
  • Enter new information into billing software to create HCFA bills
  • Assist the Billing staff in resolving issues and answering questions
  • Forward issues to the Account Manager
  • Train and audit new and existing employees
  • Develop an expert understanding of billing system functionality
  • Assist the team lead in resolving backlog and issues

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Prior experience with medical billing software and MS Excel/Word
  • 1-2 years of medical billing experience

Work Environment:

  • This position is in a temperature-controlled environment with a light to moderate noise level
  • Additional duties may be assigned by management based on business needs
