As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing preventive and repair maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, steam, and electronic components of environmental control systems and equipment associated with multi-story commercial and lab buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preventive and Repair Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including changing air filters, replacing electric motors on large air handling units, and treating hydronic system loops to maintain water quality.
  • Installation and Replacement: Install replacement coils, motors, electronics, compressors, thermostats, humidistats, fans, and other components of chilled water and direct expansion environmental control systems.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Utilize measuring instruments, such as multimeters, refrigeration gauges, and thermo-hygrometers, to resolve issues and apply principles of thermodynamics and physics to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on repairs and services according to university and regulatory requirements.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with a team under the direction of work leaders to solve complex technical issues with HVACR equipment.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of experience in HVAC maintenance and repair.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical systems, and electrical systems; ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Valid driver's license and ability to maintain a satisfactory driving record.
