Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Diesel Technician to join our team through our Pathway Home Diesel Technician Training Career Skills Program. This 12-week program is designed for individuals with a mechanical background, either through military service or prior experience, who are looking to advance their career in the diesel technician field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic problems
  • Perform standard component inspections and repairs
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints
  • Utilize Shop Management System and electronic documentation
  • Work in accordance with all federal and corporate compliance guidelines

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Vocational or Technical Certification, Post-secondary vocational education preferred
  • One year or more of combination of classroom training or work experience of mechanical repairs on heavy duty and medium duty equipment
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to complete and apply required technical training
  • Pass Ryder Regulated Status Requirements
