As a Nurse Manager or Full-Time Day Shift, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of patient care, while also managing the department's budget, staffing, and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the department under the guidance of the Unit Director, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations and exceptional patient care.
- Coordinate and direct patient care to ensure patients' needs are met and hospital policy is followed, promoting a safe and efficient environment.
- Provide leadership and direction in accordance with organizational and department goals and objectives, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Interview and hire job candidates, making recommendations to ensure the best fit for our team.
- Develop and manage staffing schedules, adjusting as needed to optimize productivity and meet patient care demands.
- Initiate written and verbal disciplinary actions, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback and coaching to support staff growth and development.
- Lead unit-specific performance improvement and quality measures, driving continuous quality and patient satisfaction.
- Accurately record all time worked, controlling overtime and maintaining accurate attendance records.
- Collaborate with the Unit Director to revise and develop policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Serve as a role model for professional conduct, demonstrating exceptional customer service, confidentiality, communication skills, and attendance.
- Promote physician interaction to ensure quality patient care and physician satisfaction, fostering strong relationships with our medical staff.
- Demonstrate expert clinical knowledge and skills, staying up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices and guidelines.
- Order supplies for the unit as needed, ensuring efficient and effective resource management.
- Perform and assist with patient care as necessary, providing direct support to our nursing staff.
- Serve in the capacity of the Unit Director as requested, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree required, with a Master's degree (MSN) preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in an acute care facility, including at least 1 year of experience in the specialty area.
- Management experience is required, with a proven track record of leadership and team management.
- A valid Permanent Multi-State RN License from the state in which you reside is required.
- American Heart Association BLS CPR certification is required.
- Mandatory certifications for relevant department(s) are required within the orientation period.
