Job Title: Senior Procurement and Inventory Planner

About the Role:

Ideal Living is a consumer goods company seeking a detail-oriented Senior Procurement and Inventory Planner to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our supply chain team, you will leverage your analytical skills and attention to detail to drive efficiency and optimize our procurement and inventory process.

Responsibilities:

  • Procurement and Inventory Planning:
    • Oversee and manage procurement activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
    • Analyze sales data and forecasts to inform inventory management decisions, minimizing stockouts and overstock situations.
    • Present weekly reports to the team, outlining proposed orders, inventory levels, forecasts, and recommendations.
    • Collaborate with the Inventory Manager and supply chain team to optimize stock levels across all locations.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Ensure optimal stock levels to meet demand, maintaining the balance agreed upon with the VP of Operations and CFO.
    • Host weekly inventory planning meetings with brand teams and channel leads to discuss inventory levels and forecasts.
    • Maintain interdepartmental communication and synergy for overall success.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Oversee domestic procurement activities, including vendor relationships, contract management, cost, and quality negotiations.
    • Conduct biannual procurement RFPs to engage new vendor partners and keep costs competitive.
    • Establish and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Collect and analyze weekly sales data for each brand, creating management reports, dashboards, and presentations.
    • Consolidate weekly sales data for all brands to identify potential issues, forecasting, and ordering.
  • Order and Shipment Monitoring:
    • Monitor purchase order and shipment status, ensuring timely delivery of goods.
    • Keep inbound lists up to date and communicate details with all stakeholders.
  • Purchase Order Management:
    • Go through the approval process for proposed purchases and place purchase orders.
    • Work with the product development team to ensure efficient manufacturing supply chains.
  • Vendor Negotiation and Sourcing:
    • Negotiate with vendors for better pricing on raw materials, packaging materials, and co-packing costs.
    • Ensure the right goods and services are acquired at the right time, in the right quantities, and at the lowest possible cost while maintaining quality.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience in procurement and supply chain management, preferably in a senior role.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel is required.
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and inventory management software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
