Hospital Medical Collections Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Consulting Hospital Medical Collections professional to join our dynamic team at Jobot. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the collection of outstanding debts from patients and insurance companies.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategies to increase the number of successful collections.
- Conduct thorough investigations to uncover unpaid debts and negotiate with patients and insurance companies to arrange for payment.
- Collaborate with the billing department to ensure timely payment and follow up with patients and insurance companies.
- Maintain accurate records of all collection activities and regularly report on collection efforts, successes, and areas needing improvement.
- Handle escalated patient or insurance company disputes and resolve them in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure all collections activities are conducted in compliance with state and federal laws and company policies.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in hospital medical collections, with a specific focus on Medi-Cal Managed Care.
- Proven track record of successful collections and a deep understanding of medical billing and collections processes.
- Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal laws related to debt collections and medical billing.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data and use it to make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in using medical billing software and other related IT systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- High level of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- Ability to work independently, but also as part of a team, and to take initiative in improving processes and strategies.
