Job Summary

The Display Hardware team at Apple is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and development of next-generation displays in Mac products. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of display hardware, working closely with cross-functional partners to ensure seamless integration and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design of PCBs and electrical characterization/validation from prototype through mass production
  • Analyze and provide feedback on mechanical and thermal constraints impacting EE design
  • Run simulations to meet various requirements such as Display, Touch, and Graphics
  • Participate in cross-functional design reviews as a stakeholder in the overall system design
  • Provide technical support and debug factory production issues
  • Communicate and present technology updates and project status to executives and cross-functional teams
  • Manage project milestones and issues through product development builds
  • Perform failure analysis on electrical, mechanical, and optical issues
Requirements
  • BS in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of industrial experience
  • Direct experience in mixed-signal EE design at either IC or PCB level
  • Expert in circuit design and analysis, fluent with Spice-based simulation tools
  • Experience in prototype bring-up and debugging, functional verification, and manufacturing support
  • Experienced in EE validation/characterization tasks, and familiar with lab tools and equipment
  • Experience in three or more of the following areas: DC-DC power converter design & analysis, High Speed signaling, SI/PI/crosstalk analysis, Schematic capture, PCB layout design, BOM creating with ECAD tools, Scripting, data processing or automation skills, programming experience in Python, Shell script, Matlab or similar tools, FPGA/CPLD/MCU programming and design
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of modern display technologies, such as LCD, TFT, OLED, LED, etc.
  • Consumer electronics and high-volume production experience
  • Ability to communicate and present technology updates and project status to executives and functional teams

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and performance. You'll also receive benefits including comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and reimbursement for certain educational expenses. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments.
