Job SummaryWe are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and development of next-generation displays in Mac products. As a key member of the Display Hardware team, you will work in a collaborative environment where creativity and innovation are supported and expected.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in core architecture definition and investigation while working closely with Apple cross-functional partners.
- Lead design of PCB and electrical characterization/validation from prototype through mass production.
- Analyze and provide feedback on mechanical and thermal constraints impacting EE design.
- Run simulations to meet various requirements such as Display, Touch, and Graphics.
- Participate in cross-functional design reviews as a stakeholder in the overall system design.
- Provide technical support and debug factory production issues.
- Communicate and present technology updates and project status to executives and cross-functional teams.
- Manage project milestones and issues through product development builds.
- Perform failure analysis on electrical, mechanical, and optical issues.
- BS in Electrical engineering with minimum 10 years industrial experience.
- Direct experience in mixed signal EE design at either IC or PCB level.
- Expert in circuit design and analyses. Fluent with Spice based simulation tools.
- Experience in prototype bring-up and debugging, functional verification and manufacturing support.
- Experienced in EE validation/characterization tasks, and familiar with lab tools and equipment.
- Experience in three or more of the following areas: DC-DC power converter design & analysis, High Speed signaling, SI/PI/crosstalk analysis, Schematic capture, PCB layout design, BOM creating with ECAD tools, Scripting, data processing or automation skills, programming experience in Python, Shell script, Matlab or similar tools, FPGA/CPLD/MCU programming and design.
- Working knowledge on modern display technologies, such as LCD, TFT, OLED, LED etc, is a plus.
- Consumer electronics and high-volume production experience.
- Ability to communicate and present technology updates and project status to executives and functional teams.
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
