Overview: The Equipment Maintenance Lead oversees and coordinates the activities of personnel engaged in the upkeep and repair of machinery and systems, performing the following responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment at all times.
- Supervise team members involved in the maintenance and repair of machinery, including but not limited to motors, pumps, conveyors, fillers, case formers, case loaders, sealers, coders, palletizers, and other packaging and processing equipment.
- Request necessary tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Evaluate completed tasks for compliance with blueprints, specifications, and quality standards.
- Review production timelines and estimate labor hours needed for task completion.
- Modify or establish work procedures to align with production timelines.
- Communicate company policies to team members and enforce safety regulations.
- Propose modifications in working conditions and equipment usage to enhance team efficiency.
- Identify and resolve work-related issues or assist team members in troubleshooting problems.
- Initiate or recommend strategies to motivate team members to reach performance objectives.
- Collaborate with other supervisors to synchronize departmental activities.
- Input accurate and timely data into the preventive maintenance software system.
- Advise on inventory management regarding parts to be maintained or removed from stock.
- Demonstrate flexibility in work schedule, including weekends, based on staffing and maintenance needs.
- Foster a positive work environment and maintain effective interactions with customers, colleagues, and management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation. Capable of effectively presenting information and addressing inquiries from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience in food manufacturing or related training is required.
- Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
