Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate School Social Worker to join our team at Soliant. As a key member of our educational services team, you will play a critical role in supporting the social, emotional, and academic well-being of students in our schools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Student Support Services: Provide direct counseling and support services to students, individually or in groups, to address social, emotional, and behavioral issues.
  • Assessment and Intervention: Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify student needs and develop appropriate intervention plans.
  • Collaboration and Consultation: Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop strategies and interventions that promote student well-being and academic success.
  • Crisis Intervention: Offer crisis intervention services and support during emergency situations or critical incidents.
  • Community Liaison: Serve as a liaison between school, home, and community resources, facilitating access to necessary services and advocating for students and families.
  • Professional Development: Provide consultation and guidance to teachers and staff on understanding and addressing students' social and emotional needs.
  • Partnerships and Collaborations: Collaborate with external agencies and community organizations to enhance support services available to students and families.
  • IEP Support: Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to the development of appropriate goals and accommodations for students.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential records of student assessments, interventions, and progress.
Qualifications
  • Education: Masters degree in Social Work.
  • Licensure: School Social Worker license/certification.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Strong understanding of child and adolescent development, social-emotional issues, and behavior management. Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic techniques and intervention strategies. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with students, parents, teachers, and community members.
  • Personal Qualities: Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and effectively handle sensitive and confidential information. Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and priorities.
