Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Description

Sutter Health is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team in Yuba City, California.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform routine and specialized nuclear medicine procedures to produce high-quality images for physicians and other healthcare providers. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong understanding of diagnostic nuclear medicine principles and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and specialized nuclear medicine procedures to produce high-quality images
  • Work independently to execute safe and precise procedures to deliver accurate results in a timely manner
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to gain confidence and cooperation
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure patient safety and privacy
  • May be responsible for performing specific procedures and/or orienting other staff to the department
Requirements
  • Successful completion of an educational program in Nuclear Medicine accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology or the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
  • NMT-California Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification
  • Recent relevant experience preferred
Skills and Knowledge
  • General knowledge of diagnostic nuclear medicine principles, procedures, views, and equipment
  • Ability to perform routine nuclear medicine examinations and basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods
Work Environment

This is a per diem/casual position with variable days and hours. The pay range for this role is $67.20 to $84.00 per hour.
