Mohs Histotech Professional

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Histotechnician - Mohs Specialist to join our team at Quadrant Inc. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for processing tissue samples for path review, performing DNA extractions, and applying advanced skills using specialized tools and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process tissue samples for path review, ensuring accuracy and precision in mounting, embedding, cutting, and staining of tissue sections.
• Perform DNA extractions and apply basic and advanced skills using specialized tools and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with all local, federal, CLIA, and CAP regulations, adhering to attendance and punctuality guidelines.
• Maintain a clean and well-organized work area, correctly preparing special stains and solutions.
• Routinely check and verify that surgical case numbers match blocks and slides, printing labels as appropriate.
• Record in laboratory logbooks all slides and stains prepared daily, logging appropriate information into the surgical pathology computer system.
• Follow appropriate laboratory safety protocols, unpacking orders received and dating and stocking orders in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate skills in technical data interpretation and ability to troubleshoot, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and general working knowledge of Internet for business use.
• Continuously strive to improve clinical testing, confidence, and knowledge through formal and informal education, maintaining appropriate quality controls.
• Ensure the lab is in accordance with all standards set forth by OSHA, CLIA, and other regulatory agencies.

Requirements:

• Experienced Mohs - Histotech with medical laboratory training.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and general working knowledge of Internet for business use.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
