Quadrant Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Histotechnician - Mohs Histotech to join our team. As a Histotechnician - Mohs Histotech, you will be responsible for processing tissue samples for path review, performing DNA extractions, and ensuring compliance with all local, federal, CLIA, and CAP regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Process tissue samples for path review, ensuring accuracy and precision in mounting, embedding, cutting, and staining of tissue sections.
- Perform DNA extractions and apply basic skills and may develop advanced skills using tools and equipment appropriate for the position or specialization.
- Ensure compliance with all local, federal, CLIA, and CAP regulations, adhering to attendance and punctuality guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and well-organized work area, correctly preparing special stains and solutions.
- Routinely check and verify that surgical case numbers match blocks and slides, printing labels as appropriate.
- Record in laboratory logbooks all slides and stains prepared daily, logging appropriate information into the surgical pathology computer system.
- Follow appropriate laboratory safety protocols, unpacking orders received, dating and stocking orders in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate skills in technical data interpretation and ability to troubleshoot, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and general working knowledge of Internet for business use.
- Continuously strive to improve clinical testing, confidence, and knowledge through formal and informal education, maintaining appropriate quality controls.
- Ensure the lab is in accordance with all standards set forth by OSHA, CLIA, and other regulatory agencies.
- Must have medical laboratory training.
- Must have experience working with EMR.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
