Job Summary

AmeriCold Logistics is seeking a skilled Refrigeration Technician I to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing refrigeration operations, preventative maintenance, and repairs throughout our warehouse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Refrigeration Operations: Operate and perform repairs and adjustments of refrigeration systems, monitor system performance, and determine when the system is not operating correctly.
  • Maintenance Support: Provide maintenance support as necessary to ensure operational objectives are met.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on various types of warehouse equipment in accordance with OSHA standards.
  • System Evaluation: Test, maintain, and evaluate equipment performance using instruments such as multi-meters.
  • Tool Maintenance: Maintain tools and machinery in good condition and use tools and equipment carefully as instructed.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Experience: 2 years combined refrigeration and/or maintenance experience (relevant technical school certification program and/or associates degree program considered in lieu of employment experience).
  • Certifications: Required to successfully complete assigned industrial refrigeration and/or mechanical-electrical courses, train in HAZMAT, obtain, and maintain certification.
  • Skills: Basic computer skills required (email, internet searches, basic data entry, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of general refrigeration practices.
  • Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Mathematical Skills: Mathematical and documentation skills necessary.
  • Physical Abilities: Ability to work with hands in mechanically oriented situations, ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

  • Temperature: May be required to tolerate working environment with inside controlled temperatures of -20 degrees Fahrenheit and outside ambient temperatures (including heat, cold, and precipitation).
  • Height: Must be able to work at heights in excess of 35 ft. and be able to access elevated platforms and catwalk.
  • Lifting: Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision: Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
