Corporate Communications Specialist

ComResource is seeking a skilled Corporate Communications Specialist to join their team.
The ideal candidate will serve as a master storyteller and writer, engaging others while shaping the corporate communications strategy. This role is pivotal in developing and executing internal messaging and strategies that align with the company's mission, vision, principles, and brand, while collaborating with cross-functional partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Internal Communication: Identify and capitalize on opportunities to promote the organization through effective internal communication, ensuring alignment with employee feedback and keeping senior leaders informed on strategies and messaging.
- Communication Strategy: Participate in the design and execution of a company-wide communication strategy, supporting philanthropy and sustainability initiatives.
- Crisis Communications: Prepare, develop, and implement crisis communication plans as needed.
- Channel Management: Maintain and oversee all communication channels and platforms, including intranet sites, TV signage, and email platforms. Manage posts/emails efficiently and handle the removal or archival of outdated content. Track and measure the effectiveness of these platforms (e.g., employee usage, open rates).
- Relationship Building: Build strong relationships with all levels of the organization to evaluate and address communication needs effectively.
- Content Development: Develop and initiate editorial content while following up and measuring outcomes within established deadlines.
- Celebratory Events: Elevate various business units by orchestrating celebratory weeks and events that highlight employee stakeholder groups.
- Leadership Participation: Actively participate in functional leadership meetings as a trusted thought partner.
- Understanding Communication Preferences: Gain a deep understanding of communication preferences within each business unit to tailor messaging effectively.
- Special Projects: Participate on special project teams as needed.
Essentials:

- Experience supporting leadership at all levels, with the ability to transition from strategic to tactical approaches as required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a passion for storytelling and the ability to capture and translate the voice of leaders.
- Proven ability to build trust with employees in supported business units.
- Superior writing and editing skills, with the capability to adhere to deadlines and produce clear, concise content.
- Advocate for company culture and employee engagement, seamlessly weaving values throughout messaging.
- Excellent writing and grammatical skills, adaptable to industry-specific style guides.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and tact in high-stress situations.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Capability to handle difficult questions and issues with poise.
- Experience in creating, implementing, and managing a budget.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in communications, aviation, change management, or a related field.
