Role Overview
As a Certified Nursing Assistant within our community, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our senior residents through meaningful interactions and hands-on healthcare support. CNAs are responsible for providing both physical and emotional assistance, aiding with daily living activities, and promoting the highest level of independence possible.

Work Schedule: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (with rotating days off and one 3-day weekend per pay period)

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will have the opportunity to positively influence the lives of our residents and their families by performing the following duties:
  • Conduct regular rounds to ensure residents' comfort, safety, and cleanliness.
  • Adhere to Buckner's standards of excellence in customer service in all interactions.
  • Deliver safe and effective care, including assistance with bathing, feeding, grooming, and mobility.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of equipment and living areas.
  • Document activities related to daily living and other pertinent information accurately and promptly.
  • Assist residents with morning routines and dining needs.
  • Manage linen changes and ensure a supply of clean towels.
  • Monitor and report any changes in residents' conditions, including vital signs.
  • Safely assist with lifting and repositioning residents as needed.
  • Distribute meals and snacks in a timely manner.
  • Encourage participation in restorative activities and engage residents in social interactions.
  • Address resident disputes or behavioral issues professionally, ensuring a harmonious environment.
  • Communicate effectively with family members regarding residents' well-being.
Qualifications

To excel in this role and contribute positively to our team, candidates should possess the following:
  • Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant program with a valid CNA certification from the state of Texas.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with residents and document care accurately.
  • Completion of required training and certifications, including CPR and First Aid.
  • Compassionate demeanor, strong listening skills, and a dependable nature focused on meeting the needs of seniors.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain ethical standards and foster positive interpersonal relationships.
  • Physical capability to meet the demands of the role, including lifting and transporting residents.
Preferred Experience
While not mandatory, candidates with the following experience are encouraged to apply:
  • At least one year of relevant experience in a healthcare or senior living environment.
