About the Role

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to help shape the future of NewsBreak.

The ideal candidate will work on the data infrastructure and enable company growth by executing actionable milestones, with the help and guidance from industry-leading experts. This experience can be career-changing for you as you join NewsBreak during this hyper-growth period.

Responsibilities
  • Implement, maintain and optimize data pipelines, architectures and data sets.
  • Bring your expertise to help model structured & unstructured data. Own these data models and be a data POC across teams.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, platform engineers to understand data needs and drive key data infrastructure decisions across application teams.
  • Be a team player and a mentor with strong communication skills.
Requirements
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a fast-paced, high-growth tech environment is preferred.
  • Experience with databases and data infrastructure, either from work or school projects.
  • Experience in big-data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Presto, Kafka, Flink.
  • Experience improving efficiency, scalability, and stability of system resources.
  • Experience working in a cloud environment, preferably AWS.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is listed below. Pay may vary based on a number of factors including job-related skills, level, experience, geographic location and relevant education or training. At NewsBreak, we design our overall rewards package to attract top talents. Depending on the position, the role may also be eligible for discretionary bonus and options. Annual Base Pay Range $125,000—$221,000 USD
