Pain Management Advanced Practice Provider Opportunity

CommonSpirit Health, a prominent healthcare organization, is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Pain Management Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to enhance our medical team. In this role, you will assess, diagnose, and treat patients suffering from both acute and chronic pain conditions. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting thorough pain evaluations, crafting personalized treatment strategies, and applying evidence-based practices to elevate patients' overall well-being. The ideal candidate will possess a solid clinical foundation in pain management, outstanding communication abilities, and a passion for providing exceptional patient care.

  • Work alongside a supportive team of 1 Physician and 2 APPs
  • Full-time position with no on-call duties; weekends off
  • Split responsibilities between various clinic locations

  • Potential for performing minor procedures if desired

Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive evaluations of patients with pain conditions, including detailed medical histories and physical examinations.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Create and implement individualized pain management plans tailored to patients' medical histories and treatment objectives.
  • Prescribe and oversee pharmacological treatments, including analgesics and opioids, while adhering to established guidelines.
  • Conduct interventional procedures for pain relief, such as nerve blocks and joint injections.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic pain management care.
  • Educate patients and their families on pain management techniques and medication usage.
  • Monitor and reassess patients' pain levels and treatment effectiveness, adjusting plans as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient encounters and treatment plans.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in pain management through continuous education and professional development.
Qualifications:
  • Current licensure and certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in California.
  • DEA registration and relevant certifications.
  • ACLS and BLS certifications.
  • Strong clinical experience in pain management, with a focus on diagnosing and treating various pain conditions.
  • Proficiency in conducting physical examinations and interpreting diagnostic results.
  • Knowledge of interventional pain management techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective patient education.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Strong analytical skills for managing complex pain cases.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and ethical standards.
  • Adaptability to evolving healthcare regulations and best practices.
