About the role:
As an Applied Scientist at Thomson Reuters Labs, you will be part of a diverse global team of experts. We recruit specialists from various AI research and engineering fields to propel the company's digital evolution. Your responsibilities will include:
- Experimentation and Development: You will manage the complete model development lifecycle, from initial prototypes to final delivery, adhering to best practices for reproducible research and effective software management.

You are an ideal candidate for the Applied Scientist position if you possess:
Basic qualifications:
- PhD in a relevant field or a Master's degree with equivalent experience.
- Minimum of one year of industry experience in developing IR/NLP/ML systems.
- Strong software engineering skills for prototyping.
- Excellent communication and data analysis abilities.
- 5+ years of practical experience in building IR, ML, or NLP systems in either academia or industry.
- Experience in designing and implementing solutions utilizing large language models.
- Relevant publications in recognized conferences such as ACL, EMNLP, NAACL, NeurIPS, ICLR, SIGIR, KDD, or similar.
- Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
- Experience in writing production-quality code and contributing to effective software delivery.
