Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Hospitalist
Job Summary:Geisinger Health System is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Internal Medicine team at Geisinger Mount Nittany Medical Center.
Responsibilities:- Assess and establish presumptive diagnoses and implement treatment plans for patients.
- Makes accurate and complete entries into the electronic medical record, orders and interprets diagnostic testing, and prescribes appropriate medical therapy.
- Evaluates and reports to collaborating physicians any circumstances or approaches to medical management or test results that present a significant risk to patients' health or well-being.
- Performs procedures within the scope of practice of the physician assistant license.
- Communicates with collaborative physicians, patients, primary care physicians, and referring staff through telephone or other means of correspondence.
- Instills confidence in patients by providing safe, ethical care and health education to patients and their families in a language they can understand.
- Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a related field.
- Basic Life Support Certification and Certified Physician Assistant (NCCPA) certification.
