Job Summary: In partnership with physicians, provides comprehensive care to both new and established patients. Exhibits independence through patient evaluation, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care. Responsible for ordering necessary tests and proficiently interpreting results while prescribing suitable medications and therapeutic regimens within the nurse practitioner's scope of practice. These responsibilities, carried out in collaboration with nursing staff, physicians, and other departmental personnel, may encompass triage, telephonic communication, and patient education.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts assessments and establishes preliminary diagnoses, implementing treatment plans tailored to the patient population.
  • Maintains accurate and thorough entries in the electronic medical record; orders and interprets diagnostic tests, consulting as necessary, and prescribes appropriate medical therapies based on evidence-based practices.
  • Prescribes, modifies, or discontinues medications or therapies as deemed appropriate.
  • Evaluates and communicates to the collaborating physician any circumstances or medical management approaches that pose significant risks to the patient's health or well-being.
  • Performs procedures within the licensed scope of practice for nurse practitioners.
  • Engages in communication with the collaborating physician, patients, primary care providers, and referring staff through various means of correspondence.
  • Instills confidence in patients by acting as their advocate, delivering safe, ethical care, and health education in an understandable manner.
  • Interprets and adheres to policies and guidelines to define procedures and achieve goals and deadlines.

Education: Master's Degree-Nurse Practitioner (Required)
