- Oversee the flow of investment opportunities to effectively structure and finalize investments.
- Contribute to investment documentation by conducting both qualitative and quantitative assessments for prospective investments.
- Collaborate with portfolio companies to foster their growth, providing value through your insights, experience, and guidance.
- Assist in financial analysis and valuation, exploring various structural alternatives for informed decision-making.
- Manage internal tracking of portfolio company performance, developing dashboards to highlight growth trends and inform subsequent investment strategies.
- Founder Recruitment:
- Collaborate with the investment team to identify promising founders who align with our investment criteria.
- Assist the investment team with outreach, scheduling, and follow-up communications with founders.
- Company Due Diligence:
- Support the evaluation process for potential investments.
- Assist the investment team in decision-making and managing communications with founders in the pipeline.
- Fund Reporting:
- Oversee monthly reporting on fund performance, utilizing internal software to track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) that reflect the growth, profitability, and sustainability of our investments.
- Portfolio Support:
- Work with founders to leverage resources available to them.
- Coordinate quarterly meetings with portfolio companies.
- Collect data and updates for each portfolio company.
Requirements:
- A strong commitment to Pronghorn's mission is essential.
- 2-3 years of experience in investment banking or direct involvement in Venture Capital or Private Equity.
- Familiarity with the structure of an Investment Memo and the research necessary to create one.
- A proven investment track record demonstrating the ability to source, execute, and nurture early-stage businesses.
- An entrepreneurial mindset, curiosity, and a proactive approach to contributing across various aspects of the business.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong emotional intelligence; experience in recruiting, vetting, or advising entrepreneurs is advantageous.
- A genuine enthusiasm for startups, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a desire to learn.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity while maintaining high expectations.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Proficiency in Google Sheets and other tools utilized by our founders.
